Active Worlds textures - Principals


Textures are all images which cover the objects, avatars aso... which you see in virtual worlds. They can be static (like a brick wall for example), animated (like certain water textures) or they can have transparent zones (for instances used on certain trees).

A texture can have a mamximum size of 512x512 pixels, with the exception of the backdrops who are in general way larger and in rectangular shape.
A texture should also be as light as possible (in Kb) to minimise the download time into cache for your visitors.

The only supported format at this moment is .JPG for textures and .BMP for masks. The 4.1 version adds new formats, for instance .PNG.

You will find on this website free textures as well as masks, compatible with Active Worlds.
