Active Worlds - NAME Command - Selective effects on different objects
Function :
The name command gives a name to one or multiple objects which then can be linked to one or several other commands, located at one or multiple objects within a person's sight.
If this is not the case, we give it its default name which is "me" (for example create animate
me etc...)
Use :
name name
Details :
The "name" command has no effect when used all by itself. Indeed, it is used in combination with the following commands :
Visible name [on or off] : make an object visible or invisible
Solid name [on ou off] : make an object solid or non-solid
Sign name : apply a text on an object (Note : only valid for those objects which have been predefined to support the text option)
Picture name : displays an image on an object (Note : only valid for those objects which have been predefined to support picture option)
Color name : apply a color on an object
Animate name : execute an animation on an object
Frame name : change the texture of the animation currently used
Astart name : start a stopped animation
Astop name : stops an animation in progress
Example : create name object2 on a wall.rwx
Effect :
None.
By adding :
activate visible object2 off, solid object2 off on an other object located in the same zone
Effect :
When clicking on this other object, the object wall.rwx which supports the command "name" will become invisible and not solid.
